Nonstop activities and fun swept through Alumim on the auspicious day of Lag Ba’omer. On Sunday morning, Alumim children participated in a special parade together with Jewish residents of Zhitomir. The parade marched through the main streets of the city, which were closed to traffic in honor of the event.
As the parade concluded, the children joined a school-wide annual Lag Ba’Omer production and special activity day. While the older children enjoyed a wide variety of activities including ice-skating, bowling, and pool, receiving instruction in all of the above; youngsters benefited from a fun-zone and giant indoor playground.
In the afternoon, the children celebrated the special event of the upshernish (first haircut at three years old) of the son of Alumim’s beloved educational director. The special day reached its pinnacle as everyone joined hands, singing and dancing in unison around a giant bonfire.
Late at night, the children collapsed onto their beds in fatigue, delighted and warmed by the fantastic array of their Lag Ba’Omer festival…
