Bris in Alumim

05/05/2010

A special event took place today at Alumim as two students, age 12 years old, merited entering into the covenant of Avraham Avinu. The mohel, Rabbi Binyamin Halperin, flew in especially from Israel to conduct the ceremony of the bris. Rabbi Halperin, as well as everyone who attended the affair, was deeply moved by the ritual and inspired by the commitment of these two very special young men who had not merited a bris at infancy, but who were determined to fulfill the mitzvah.

Both boys arrived at our institution from famed Jewish cities — Uman and Munkatch. Consulting with their families, they were called by their new Jewish names — Aharon and Shlomo.

All Alumim children and faculty participated in a festive seudas mitzvah in honor of the memorable event. Aharon and Shlomo received myriad brachos and heartfelt wishes for lives of spiritual and material success.
