A Summer to Remember for Over 100 Children

This week, we concluded an unforgettable summer camp experience for boys in Zhytomyr, Ukraine — a program that brought light, joy, and Jewish pride to over 100 children from Zhytomyr and surrounding cities.

Loving Care at the Alumim Campground

The camp took place at our beautiful Alumim campground and was lovingly run by a group of dedicated boys from the United States. Their care and devotion to the children were truly inspiring, creating an atmosphere filled with friendship, encouragement, and Jewish warmth.

Daily Adventures, Sports, and Fun

Each day at camp was filled with new opportunities for discovery and growth. The children enjoyed:

  • Exciting Trips: Outings to the city introduced the boys to cultural sites, parks, and recreational attractions, filling their days with discovery and laughter.

  • Water Fun: Swimming every day gave the children both relaxation and energy, and for many, it was the highlight of their summer.

  • Laser Tag Competitions: Action-filled games of strategy and teamwork brought smiles, excitement, and a sense of healthy challenge.

  • Sports and Outdoor Activities: From soccer and basketball to relay races and team-building games, the boys had the chance to strengthen their bodies and spirits, while learning about cooperation and fair play.

  • Evening Programs: Campfires, singing, storytelling, and Jewish-themed workshops deepened the children’s sense of identity and connection.

These activities didn’t just entertain — they built confidence, friendships, and lifelong memories.

A Sacred Moment: Brit Milah for Six Boys

One of the most emotional highlights of the camp was the Brit Milah ceremony for six boys, marking their eternal bond with the Jewish people. Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm had the honor of blessing the children at this sacred moment — a powerful scene of Jewish continuity that touched every heart present.
